The National Abortion Rights Action League’s (NORAL) obnoxious ultrasound tweet condemning Doritos for “Humanizing fetuses” in their Superbowl commercial, did not go unchallenged as a barrage of mocking erupted on twitter.
What could NORAL possibly have against the Doritos Superbowl commercial?
It was an Ultrasound, the abortionists worst nightmare. Notice the hashtag #antichoice in there tweet. It is interesting to contrast the hypocrisy in this since abortion clinics do not show ultrasounds to woman who are in the throws of deciding to keep their babies or not.
By pro-choice, they actually mean pro-abortion, because informed educated decision making is not what the abortion provider is supplying.
Dr. Joseph Randall, a former abortion provider in Georgia, who began the practice in the 1970’s, said he would regularly perform between 20 and 30 abortions a day. His personal record he stated, was 62 in one day.
Dr. Randall talked about the impact of improved medical science and understanding of the human fetus, crediting the advent of ultrasound as a turning point for many abortion providers.
“When we started, we lost two nurses. They couldn’t take looking at it. Some other staff was lost. The turnover got greater when we started doing the D&Es and mostly, as I said, the ultrasounds. So I think the ultrasound was one of the keys there.
“Woman… Never Allowed to Look At Ultrasound”
The other thing, too, is because the women who are having the abortions are never allowed to look at the ultrasound, because we know even if they heard the heart beat that many times they wouldn’t have the abortion, and you wouldn’t want that. No money in that.”
Maybe this is why Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups vehemently appose mandatory ultrasound legislation? What happened to informing woman so they can make educated decisions? Doesn’t sound much like pro-choice to me when the push is for abortion while keeping woman in the dark about what is really happening in their own bodies.
Ultrasound is a “Torture Weapon”
Janet Hadley, an abortion advocate and author, commented that ultrasounds were a “torture weapon”. “Abortion: between Freedom and Necessity” (Great Britain: Virago Press, 1996) 150
When Rick Perry was running for president, he supported a bill that would allow woman to see an ultrasound of their baby before making the decision to abort, this was a bill that would allow the woman the choice (pro-choice) to see or not to see an ultrasound. Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, who you may recognize from the news regarding the illegal sales of baby parts, said this about Perry;
“Why is Rick Perry so cruel to women? … Rick Perry is running for president, and if he wins, you can bet he’ll force this dangerous agenda on every woman in every state. If we don’t stand up to him now, women may suffer the consequences for years to come.” Maggie Haberman “ Richards: Perry ‘so cruel’ to women” Politico, Sept 1, 2011
A former abortion clinic worker, Catherine Anthony Adair, admitted to misleading practices in abortion clinics;
“We Never Discuss Fetal Development”
“We never discussed fetal development. The baby was referred to as the ”contents of the uterus” or a “clump of cells.” on the rare occasion a woman asked about the size of the baby, I would tell her it was about the size of the tip of my pencil, regardless of how many weeks into her pregnancy she was.”
71% Choose Life After Ultrasound
The Woman’s Choice Network, a pro-life organization helping women who are facing unplanned pregnancies, states that in 2011, that out of 172 woman who chose to view an ultrasound of their baby, 123 elected not to abort the child. That is true choice.
Choices Medical Clinic is located next to an abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas. Executive Director Tim Weisner, says the clinic offers free ultrasounds and draws many woman in from the abortion clinic next door. The rate at which woman who have an ultrasound at his clinic and choose not to have an abortion is 70%. Weisner says, the rate is climbing since they have purchased a 4D Ultrasound machine.
“This is a ‘Wow’ kind of machine,” agreed Medical Director Dr. Bill Cutrer. “The kinds of images we can get on the real early pregnancies at seven weeks, eight weeks, nine or 10, are just breathtaking. There’s no one that leaves with any doubt this is a baby.”
So, now we know why an ultrasound commercial, viewed by millions of people is so offensive to the abortion lobby. Abortion is not about education, information, choice, it never has been.
